Full Council Meeting - ALL Councilors need to attend

There will be an important briefing for the Sec 1 Orientation Camp and Games

Sec 1 Orientation Games + other duties for school reopening

Dear Councillors,

Our school has just given us details on what we are to do for the Sec 1 Orientation.

This is the schedule for what we need to do for the Sec 1 Camp. ( Please read below) For the games , ALL councilors will be involved.

For the shadowing of the Sec 1s on 3rd and 4th Jan , the Sec 4s can also join in provided you are ok about missing your lessons and promise to catch up. ALL Sec 2s and 3s will follow the facilitators from the vendors throughout the camp so that you can learn from them as we will be organising the entire 2009 Sec 1 orientation camp.

Exco and those involved in the games planning - please take note that all the games will be played in the quadrangle and try and use games that do not require some many facilities or logistics. I suggested a few games below. After your Macs meeting plaese come over to school to meet Miss Tan and I by 3pm latest on 26th Dec so that we give our input.

Exco, please contact as many councillors as you can to inform them that there is a council meeting on 28th Dec at 1pm at school to brief them of the Sec 1 orientation camp games and other duties. Meet at the Foyer and we will proceed to the AVA room for our meeting.

Sec 1 Orientation Camp 2008
2nd Jan (Wed)

A) Morning duty (2nd Jan Wed 7am to 830am)
Council manpower needed: 10
Man information booth.
Inform parents that they can wait at the back of the assembly.

B) Games + School Tour (2nd Jan Wed 10am to 1230pm)
Council manpower needed: ALL 58 councilors from Sec 4 to Sec 2 to be involved as facilitators with each Sec 1 group being led by 3 councilors ( 1 head facilitator and 2 assistant facilitators )
To manage: 20 groups of 20 Sec 1 students (minimum of 2 councilors per group – up to max of 3 per group)
Venue: All the games will be played at a single venue the quadrangle. Wet weather programme will be held in the hall.

Games: 1 hour (4 games + 1 reserve game)
Examples of games (To be discussed by planning group)
Water Bags Passing
Obtaining signatures of teachers, office staff, HODs, P and VP and find out something about them based on questions to ask them. History of the school etc.

Flip the map
2 legged race

Ice-breakers: 45 minutes (2 games)
Dog & Bone
Blanket game – Use mahjong paper
Honey I love you
Pass messages

School Tour: 45 minutes
To visit the entire school and all the special rooms such as Art and Craft room, labs , library etc.
Highlight to students: Good behavior in these areas and dos and don’ts and rules at these places and in the school.

C) Councilors to shadow the vendor facilitators throughout the camp ( 3rd Jan Thursday and Friday 4th Jan 730am to 5pm)

D) CCA Fiesta (Friday 4th Jan 6pm to 10pm)
Council Manpower: ALL Councilors
Act as ushers to send parents and sec 1s up to the hall where the CCA Fiesta is held.

1 class of 40 split into 2groups , 2 councillors are incharged for each group.
-Names would be assigned &posted up asap.

Puzzle which was being played during council camp(Mr Larry Lee)

Split groups into 2(10/grp)- 1 facs/grp
4 groups would then compete, the last one being eliminated wins.

Materials needed for the game:
Sheets of paper
Tower,Pail, 200 plastic bags.
Ground Sheet/Map
2 rolls of Rafia String
Water bottle(Dog and bone game)
2 volley balls &chairs.
Cardboard
Chairs, CD brought by councillors & CD player.

10 people for ushering duty

Dearest secondary 2 and 3 student councillors, Please be informed that there will be ushering duty for the secondary 1 registration next friday on the 21st of december. We need 10 councillors for the ushering duty. We would like to strongly encourage the secondary 2 juniors especially, to join in the ushering. I have sent out a chain of sms and e-mails, if you have received them please reply and pass on the message to our fellow sec 2 and 3 councillors.
